Chrome extension

Add candidates to Binary from LinkedIn, Gmail, and X without leaving the page - the extension pre-fills their details into the form you choose.

What it is

The Binary Chrome extension lets you add someone to a form while you're looking at their profile - on LinkedIn, in Gmail, or on X (Twitter). It opens as a side panel next to the page, reads the name (and email, where the page shows one), and drops it into the Binary form you pick.

Install and open it

  1. Install Binary from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Log into Binary in the same Chrome profile - the extension uses that session, and will prompt you to log in if it can't find one.
  3. Open a profile and click the Binary icon in the toolbar to open the side panel.

Add a candidate

  1. Open the side panel on a supported page (see below). The Add Candidate view fills in what it found.
  2. Pick the workspace, then the form to add them to.
  3. Fill in the form's own questions - these are the questions you set up on that form, so they change from form to form. The profile link is filled into link questions automatically.
  4. (Optional) Upload their résumé to a file question. If it's a PDF, Binary reads it and fills in the remaining answers for you.
  5. (Optional) Add a comment about the candidate - it lands on their profile like any other comment.
  6. Click Add. You'll get a confirmation, and Add another to keep going.

If someone who looks like the same person is already on that form, you'll get a "We found an existing profile which looks like the same candidate" warning before anything is saved - you can open the existing profile or add them anyway.

Where it works

  • LinkedIn - regular profiles (/in/…), Sales Navigator lead pages, and Recruiter profiles. It reads the name, plus the email when LinkedIn shows one.
  • Gmail - the opened email (not the inbox list). It reads the sender's name and email.
  • X (Twitter) - profile pages. It reads the name and handle.

Notes & limits

  • Free includes the extension as a trial - up to 5 candidates a month. Business is unlimited. See Plans and billing.
  • You must be on the person's profile page - search results and inbox lists don't have enough to read.
  • Name and a form are required; email is optional but needed later if you want to message them.
  • The extension only reads the page you're on when the panel is open; it doesn't crawl LinkedIn in the background.
