Refer a candidate
Refer someone to an open form - pick the form, submit their details, and they enter the pipeline tagged as your referral.
What it is
Referrals let teammates (and people invited as Referrers) recommend candidates for open forms. A referred person enters the form's pipeline tagged with the source "Referred by {you}".
Steps
- Open the Referrals page. Its Refer tab lists the open forms you can refer into.
- Click Refer on the form you have someone for.
- Fill in the candidate's details - Name and Email are always required, plus any custom questions the workspace added (e.g. LinkedIn profile, Résumé, "How do you know this candidate?").
- Submit. The candidate is added to that form as an application, tagged as your referral.
Uploading a résumé auto-fills Name and Email. If the referral form asks for a résumé, upload the PDF first and Binary reads the candidate's Name and Email off it to pre-fill those two fields. It only fills a field that's still empty, and only when it's confident of the value - so you can always type over it or fill it in yourself. Nothing else is auto-filled.
Track the people you've referred under the My Referrals tab.
Joining via an invite link
Opening a referral invite link someone shares with you can add you to their workspace as a Referrer, so you can start referring straight away.
Notes & limits
- Requires the Business plan. Without it you're prompted to upgrade or to ask your admin.
- Referrers can only refer (and only into forms they're allowed) - they can't see or manage candidates. Admins can also refer.
- If a candidate with that email already exists on the form, the referral is rejected as a duplicate.
