Facto (myfactoapp.com) builds custom operating systems for manufacturers. We’re an early-stage, AI-first startup replacing piecemeal CRMs, ERPs, WhatsApp, Excel etc that manufacturers use with one system that runs the entire business. This is chance to join the Facto ship as we strap on to accelerate our growth.

As a Forward Deployed Engineering Intern, you sit with the customer, not behind a ticket queue. You watch how a business actually runs, break the mess into problems worth solving, then use our agentic AI tooling to ship the software people open every single morning.

High-impact coding meets real business execution. You'll see the whole journey - problem identification to production.

Palantir invented this role. It's now the fastest-growing engineering job in tech, and we're opening it to students who've already built things and want to build things that matter.

This internship is ideal for students in their 7th sem (or final year) while their college is running but class load is minimal. If you won't have classes in 8th sem, we can re-look stipend then.

WHAT WE CARE ABOUT

Not your CGPA. Three things:

You've shipped something: A side project, a tool, an app, a script that solved a real problem. Something you shipped, not just started.
You're curious about the business, not just the stack: You’re genuinely curious. You want to understand why a factory owner checks 40 excel sheets everyday, not just what tech stack to use.
You can hear a business problem and start seeing the software in your head.

Part 1: Show us something you’ve built. *

Drop a link — GitHub repo, deployed app, a video walkthrough, anything. Side projects, hackathon entries, freelance work, a script you wrote because something annoyed you. We don't care how polished it is. We care that you built it and it worked.

Part 2: Pick one of items shared in part 1 - what did you have to figure out that you didn't know when you started? *

For part 2, 2–3 sentences is plenty. Could be technical, could be about the problem itself. If it was simple and it just worked, say that - that's a fine answer.

Pick any small business you’ve seen up close (a shop, a factory, a clinic, your family’s business — anything). What’s one process there that’s clearly broken, and how would you fix it with software? *

3–5 sentences. We’re looking for how you think about real problems, not your writing skills or prompting skills.

A garment exporter tells you: “We got a bulk order for 5,000 shirts. Three weeks in, I found out we’re short on one fabric because nobody told procurement what the floor was using.” What questions would you ask next? *

List 3–5 questions you’d ask before proposing any solution. No right answers — we want to see how you break down a problem.
