What Cardinal does
Cardinal is our credit card portfolio platform. It helps issuers acquire, onboard, activate and grow their card base through digital journeys, decisioning and engagement, and connects with the bank’s card management system, core banking and other internal systems. Each Cardinal deployment is configured to the client’s products, policies and
risk rules, and taken live within the bank’s own security and change management processes. This role owns that path from signed contract to stable production.
The role
As a Product Designer, you will shape the user experience of our products from first concept to final build. You will work with product, engineering and client teams to design interfaces that are simple to use, clear to navigate and a pleasure to return to. You will own the craft of typography, iconography, colour, space and texture, and use it to help users feel confident with our products from the first screen. You will also guide a small team of junior designers.
What you will do
Generate design ideas and concepts that address user needs and fit business goals
Run user research, analyse data and turn insights into design decisions
Create wireframes, prototypes and mockups, and iterate quickly on feedback
Design clean, functional interfaces with a strong focus on usability, accessibility and visual appeal
Work closely with product managers, developers and client stakeholders so designs ship as intended
Lead and mentor junior designers to raise the pace, quality and productivity of the team
Run usability tests and refine designs based on what users actually do
Build and maintain our design system so every product and platform feels consistent Basic requirements
3+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio that shows your process as well as the final output
Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite or similar
Solid understanding of user centred design principles and methods
Experience designing for both web and mobile products
Ability to explain design decisions clearly, in conversation and in writing

Good to have
Knowledge of video editing software and animation tools
Experience designing for banking, financial services or fintech products
Experience with motion design, micro interactions or product explainer videos
Familiarity with accessibility standards and responsive design
