LunarTree is building an AI-native platform that is rewiring how new medicines are made - by giving leaders working on the next generation of drugs, the AI intelligence layer they always wish existed.
Our flagship offering, Biolens, helps some of the biggest companies in the world save hundreds of hours by eliminating painful busywork and helping teams focus on what matters — making the best decision quickly.
We've got incredible backers from Pfizer, Amgen, Merck, BCG, A91 Partners behind us.
Our team includes former founders, investors, consultants, athletes, and engineers from IIT Bombay, Goldman Sachs, Meesho, Flipkart, Merkle, SuperDM.
We're on a mission to eliminate busywork in bringing novel treatments to the world.
And now we need someone to make sure our infrastructure doesn't break as we scale.
Someone with 3-4 years of experience building reliable, scaled systems who can take our infrastructure to the next level as we move to enterprise customers and on-premise deployments.
We need someone who has owned infrastructure end-to-end - not just written code, but managed deployments, handled production incidents, set up monitoring, and thought about cost/reliability trade-offs.
Design and build robust, reliable backend infrastructure that doesn't break at enterprise scale
Manage cloud deployments (AWS - EC2, RDS, Lambda, networking, cost optimization)
Set up containerized applications, connect services, manage networking
Implement comprehensive observability: logging, alerts, monitoring (Sentry, Cloudwatch) so we know when things break before customers do
Build testing frameworks (unit, integration, API) and CI/CD pipelines that let us ship fast without breaking things
Optimize database performance: SQL queries, connection pooling, database architecture
Handle background job systems and queues (Celery, Redis, distributed task management)
Prepare for SOC2 compliance and security requirements
Work on on-premise deployment capabilities for enterprise customers
Reduce our fear - make it so we're not worried about systems failing when we onboard big customers or ship new features
3-4 years backend experience building production systems at scale
Strong AWS (or other cloud) infrastructure experience - has actually managed infrastructure, not just used it
Python backend skills (FastAPI/Django/Flask) - can write clean, maintainable code
Experience with Docker, microservices, queue-based architectures, distributed systems
Production mindset - thinks about failure modes, monitoring, reliability, cost - not just "does it work on my laptop"
Ownership mentality - sees what needs fixing and just fixes it, doesn't need hand-holding
Scaling applications: Docker, Kubernetes, EC2 utilization, horizontal scaling
Database optimization: SQL query optimization, connection management, PostgreSQL tuning
Inter-service communication: WebSockets, real-time systems, API design, queues, Redis, pub/sub, Celery
Security: Authentication, tokens, private subnets, firewalls, API gateways
Testing: Unit, integration, API test frameworks
Monitoring: Celery monitoring, error tracking, logging, Sentry, CloudWatch, alerting systems
CI/CD: CodePipeline, CodeDeploy, GitHub Actions
You only want to work on greenfield projects (we have production systems that need hardening)
You're not comfortable being on-call or owning uptime (enterprise customers depend on us)
You need perfect architecture before shipping (we move fast and fix things)
"That's not my role" attitude
Python (FastAPI), PostgreSQL, Celery, AWS (RDS, EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch, CodePipeline), Docker, Redis, Sentry, Supabase, GitHub Actions, Next.js
