Eyecandy Robotics is building next-generation entertainment robots that bring animated characters to life in the physical world. We’re looking for an entry level character designer to help shape the visual identity, personality, and appeal of our characters.

You'll work on early concepts, sketches, expressions, poses, and design iterations for original characters meant to feel alive, expressive, and lovable in the real world. Because our characters eventually become physical objects, you'll also collaborate with the team to think about how designs translate into three dimensions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Develop original character concepts from brief to refined design
Explore expressions, poses, and emotion ranges for each character
Iterate on designs across feedback cycles with product and engineering
Build simple style guides and design references that the broader team can use
Contribute to world-building and character lore as characters develop

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Strong drawing fundamentals and a genuine instinct for character appeal
Ability to communicate personality, silhouette, and emotion through design
A portfolio with original characters. Share and tell us about a character you designed that you're proud of.
Interest in animation, storytelling, toys, games, or robotics
Openness to feedback and iteration as early-stage design is collaborative and non-linear
Awareness of 3D form is a plus, but not required

⁠We're flexible on compensation. The pay offered for this role will be decided based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
