About the Role

We're looking for a Backend Engineering Intern to join our core engineering team and work directly on production systems, not a side project. You'll get hands-on experience building and scaling real backend services used by real customers, working closely with our engineering lead on system design, API development, and infrastructure decisions.

What You'll Work On

Design and build RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI
Work with PostgreSQL for data modeling and query optimization
Write clean, tested, maintainable Python code following modern best practices
Take ownership and develop services that integrate with existing infrastructure
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint planning
Debug production issues and contribute to observability / monitoring improvements

What We're Looking For

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Solid fundamentals in Python and understanding of REST API design
Knowledge about authentication flows methods like JWT and Oauth2
Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and basic SQL
Understanding of Git/version control workflows
Comfortable working in a Linux environment
Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn by building
Bonus: exposure to Docker, message queues (RabbitMQ/Kafka), async programming in Python, knowledge about system design and system architecture
Bonus: competitive programming background or open-source contributions
