We're hiring a full-time Applied AI Engineer to join Cent Health in October 2026. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to own real-world AI systems end to end - from training and inference to evals, infrastructure, product, and the software that ties it all together.
Chitra is hiring for her team.
Cent AI is a healthcare technology company that offers advanced preventive health checkups using full body MRI, DEXA, Calcium Score, chest x-ray, and blood tests to detect over 200 conditions early.
You’ll work on AI systems across medical imaging and radiology reports, with a strong focus on making them reliable in the real world.
You’ll work closely with radiologists to simplify their workflows and build products that are genuinely useful in practice.
This role spans infrastructure, inference, training, evals, backend, and product.
We’re looking for someone who can move across the full platform and make thoughtful changes wherever the bottleneck is.
Build and improve end-to-end AI pipelines for imaging and text workflows.
Design, run, and iterate on model training, inference, and evaluation systems.
Own production-quality engineering work across backend systems and internal tooling.
Work closely with product and clinical stakeholders to translate messy real-world problems into robust software.
Debug failure modes, challenge assumptions, and improve system performance as usage and data scale.
Strong applied AI / ML engineering experience, including training, inference, and evaluation.
Comfort owning systems end to end rather than only one layer of the stack.
Solid engineering fundamentals and the ability to ship reliable software in production.
Good product judgment and the ability to work closely with domain experts.
A builder mindset: practical, curious, and willing to go deep on hard problems.
Experience with medical imaging, radiology, healthcare workflows, or other high-stakes applied ML environments.
Experience at early-stage or deep-tech startups.
Evidence of owning ambiguous projects from zero to one.
We’re looking for someone grounded, ambitious, empathetic, and who takes ownership. We don’t care about your years of experience, where you studied, or whether you’ve graduated, just show us what you can build!
We’ll review your background, a few written answers, and any links or work samples you share.
If there’s a fit, we’ll follow up with next steps.
