Query Talent is representing a confidential technology company hiring a Staff Software Engineer for a high-impact, hands-on role in San Francisco.
This person will work closely with a small technical team to build core product and platform systems used in production environments. The work is suited for someone who enjoys owning ambiguous technical problems, shipping quickly, and raising the engineering bar across architecture, reliability, and product execution.
Staff-level or equivalent software engineering experience with a strong record of shipping complex production systems.
Deep backend, platform, distributed systems, or product engineering background.
Comfort working across the stack when needed, from architecture and infrastructure through user-facing product work.
Strong systems design instincts and ability to make practical tradeoffs in a fast-moving startup environment.
Experience with modern engineering tooling and a strong interest in improving developer velocity.
Excellent ownership, communication, and judgment when working directly with a small technical team.
Ability to work onsite in San Francisco.
Base salary range of $250,000 to $300,000.
