We’re hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and improve reliable backend systems. This role is best suited to someone with strong Python experience, a solid understanding of distributed systems, and the ability to work with a high level of ownership.
Build and maintain backend services and APIs used in production.
Design systems that are reliable, scalable, and easy to operate.
Work closely with product, design, and engineering teammates to ship improvements.
Debug production issues and improve performance, monitoring, and developer workflows.
Own backend features from design through rollout and maintenance.
Write clean, well-tested Python code.
Contribute to architecture decisions for distributed systems and data flows.
Help improve system reliability, observability, and operational practices.
5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong backend depth.
Strong experience building production systems in Python.
Experience designing, operating, or scaling distributed systems.
Comfort working independently and making pragmatic technical decisions.
Experience working in a startup or fast-moving environment.
Experience with cloud infrastructure, databases, queues, or event-driven systems.
Experience improving observability, CI/CD, or developer tooling.
