Product Manager - Data (ex: Data Engineer)

Zingle AI Research Lab is a San Francisco-based deep-tech startup building an AI-native platform for analytics teams. Backed by Accel and Nexus. Our team includes AI PhDs, researchers, senior technologists, and serial entrepreneurs.

We're hiring a Product Manager - Data with a data engineering background.

Hands-on IC role. You're not here to coordinate between teams or delegate tickets. You figure out what to build, get into the technical details yourself, and ship it.

Responsibilities:

• Own what gets built across pipelines, governance, cost, orchestration.

• Keep up with the data + AI space. Not just the big announcements. The tools, the shifts in how people are actually working.

• Be in the code daily. Read PRs, understand what's happening, catch problems early.

• Talk to users - data engineers, analysts, data leaders - and figure out what actually matters vs. what sounds good in a feature request

• Build demos or prototypes when that's faster than writing a spec

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of data engineering (dbt, Airflow, Spark, Snowflake/Databricks/BigQuery etc); 4-6 years overall experience

• Top IIT grad or ex-founder

• First-principles thinker. Breaks down ambiguous problems. Comfortable saying "I don't think this is right" and backing it up.

• Good product sense - knows what users need, not just what they ask for

• Plus: strong written and verbal communication

• Big plus: can build web demos or prototypes to test ideas before production code gets written
