FinBuild is a compliance and accounting firm built specifically for early-stage founders. We're small, intentional, and growing. This is a co-founder search, not a job listing.
We have a dedicated accounting team that handles execution. What we don't have yet is someone with the technical depth and business judgment to sit between that team and our clients. Someone who can catch what needs catching, answer what needs a CA's eye, and think with us about where this firm is going. That's what this role is
Finding potential clients, making pitches, building relationships, and closing leads
Thinking with the founding team on how we price, position, and grow
Technical review of work before it reaches clients, catching gaps the accounting team may miss
Handling on-the-spot client queries that need real CA judgment, not a templated response
Supporting operations as and when required, stepping in to help the team resolve issues as they arise
Just cleared your CA or have up to 2 years post-qualification experience
Worked with startup or SME clients during articleship and genuinely enjoyed it
Are as comfortable talking to a founder as you are reviewing a balance sheet
Communicate clearly and flag problems early rather than quietly waiting
Are comfortable with ambiguity and ownership without a defined ladder above you
Care about the business side of running a firm, not just the technical side
We work in a way that might feel different from a traditional firm. The client experience should never depend on who is available that day, so everything gets documented and made repeatable. We respond to clients the same hour, flag problems early rather than hoping they resolve, and expect everyone on the team to say what they actually think. If that sounds like how you already work, we'll get along well.
This is a co-founder role with real equity in a firm that already has paying clients and momentum. Cash compensation starts modest and grows as the firm grows. A stipend is on the table depending on your situation. We'd rather have a proper conversation about the full picture in person than set numbers on a page before we've even spoken.

A form with questions that cover both who you are professionally and what you're like as a person. It's the first thing we read so take your time with it. There are no trick questions and no right answers, just honest ones.
(Rolling applications, response within 5 working days)
A call with Manya. We'll talk through your application, how you think about client work, and what you're actually looking for. You'll get the full picture on FinBuild, where we are and where we're going. Come with questions.
(Response within 3 working days after the call)
A real scenario based on something we've encountered. You'll have a few days and can use whatever resources you need. We're looking at how you think, how you communicate your reasoning, and whether your judgment holds up under a real situation.
(Reviewed before the final call)
A call with Manya and a senior advisor we work closely with. We'll walk through your task, talk about fit, and have the compensation conversation properly. If we're both convinced, an offer follows within a few days.
(Offer within a week if moving forward)
A structured start. You'll meet the team, get full context on active clients, learn how we operate, and have a defined first 30 days so you're not just thrown in. We take onboarding seriously because how someone starts shapes how they work.
(Start date agreed at offer stage)
This form has two parts: a few basic details, and then the questions we actually care about. The second part is where most of the weight sits. Please take your time with it.
