Dexter Capital Advisors is a boutique Investment Bank focused on Consumer, Consumer Tech, and new-age businesses. We advise founders and promoters on M&A, PE fundraises, and sell-side transactions across our offices in Bangalore, Mumbai, and Delhi. We are in a phase of rapid expansion — and this role sits at the heart of how we grow our investor relationships and deal pipeline.

1. About the Role

This is not a support role. It is a high-ownership, high-visibility position for someone who wants to be at the intersection of deal origination, investor relations, and business development at a fast-moving boutique IB.
The person in this role will be the connective tissue between Dexter's dealmakers and the investor and founder ecosystem. You will own relationships, attend meetings, represent Dexter, and ensure that nothing falls through the cracks — from investor outreach to deal tracker hygiene.

2. What You Will Do

Investor Outreach & Relationship Building

Reach out to and build relationships with investors who invest in India — particularly those where Dexter has weaker existing connects
Proactively identify and map relevant investors across PE funds, VC funds, family offices, and global LPs
Build and maintain a strong family office network independently — this is a core expectation of the role
Support the founder and dealmakers when meeting investors in India and globally — including planning and preparation for trips to markets like Singapore
Coordinate and schedule investor meetings, prepare briefing notes, and ensure the dealmaker is fully prepped before every meeting

Fundraise Support & Founder Outreach

Reach out to founders and promoters who are actively fundraising
Identify and qualify companies with a fundraising need where Dexter can add value — even in cases where the full mandate may not be possible, find the right path forward
Support situations where a company has already raised part of its round and needs help closing the remainder — coordinate with Dexter's family office and HNI network where relevant
Stay on top of all inbound fundraising enquiries and ensure every relevant lead is followed up promptly

Fund-Level LP Connects

Support Dexter's own funds and portfolio in connecting with global LPs when needed
Help identify and initiate conversations with LPs in key geographies — with a particular focus on international investors looking at India-focused opportunities

Meetings, Events & Note-Taking

Attend investor meetings, industry events, and conferences alongside the dealmaker or independently when required
Take detailed, structured notes during every meeting and share them with the relevant team members promptly
Follow up on action items from meetings and ensure nothing is left unresolved
Build Dexter's presence and visibility in the right rooms — investor forums, founder communities, family office circles

Portfolio & Deal Tracker Management

Own and maintain the Master Deal Tracker — ensuring it is always current, accurate, and in sync
Maintain the Master Industry Checker and ensure all data is up to date and usable
Ensure dashboards reflect real-time deal and portfolio status — no stale data, no gaps
Proactively flag any deals or relationships that need attention before they slip

Must-Haves

Strong relationship-building instinct — you enjoy meeting people, following up, and nurturing connects over time
Excellent communication — written and verbal. You represent Dexter in meetings and your communication must reflect that.
High ownership — you treat every task as your own, not something to be handed back unfinished
Organised and detail-oriented — trackers, dashboards, and follow-ups cannot slip
Comfortable with ambiguity — Dexter moves fast and this role requires someone who figures things out independently
Willingness to travel — investor meetings, events, and international trips are part of the role

Good to Have

Prior experience in investor relations, business development, sales, or a client-facing role in financial services
Existing network in the PE/VC, family office, or founder ecosystem
Understanding of the Indian startup and investment landscape
Exposure to deal processes, term sheets, or fundraising workflows

What This Role Is Not

This is not a research or modeling role — if you want to build financial models all day, this is not the right fit
This is not a support or coordination role — you are expected to own outcomes, not just manage tasks
This is not a 9-to-6 role — investor relationships and deal timelines don't follow a fixed schedule

4. What Success Looks Like in 6 Months

You have independently built or deepened relationships with investors across every category investing in India — new investors, family offices domestically and globally, global funds, and fund of funds. For each new investor, you have taken it end-to-end: identified them, built the relationship, set up the call, understood their investment criteria, and made the connection count.
Every inbound fundraising lead has been qualified and followed up within 48 hours
The Master Deal Tracker and Industry Checker are always current and trusted by the team
You have attended at least 10 external meetings and your notes are used by dealmakers in follow-ups
The dealmaker can walk into any investor meeting knowing you've done the prep.
