Role Overview
We are seeking a Procurement Manager to lead the sourcing of medicines, vendor management, and Just-in-Time (JIT) procurement to ensure uninterrupted availability, optimal inventory levels, and cost efficiency. This role is critical to maintaining supply reliability while supporting Akidha’s rapid growth.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end procurement for medicines and healthcare products
Develop and execute JIT sourcing strategies to minimize inventory holding and reduce expiry risk
Identify, onboard, and manage distributors, manufacturers, and channel partners
Negotiate pricing, credit terms, SLAs, and commercial agreements
Monitor stock availability, lead times, and reorder levels in coordination with operations and warehouse teams
Ensure procurement compliance with pharma regulations, quality standards, and internal SOPs
Track procurement KPIs, including fill rate, cost savings, supplier performance, and stock turns
Coordinate with demand planning and category teams for forecasting and replenishment
Handle vendor escalations, shortages, and supply disruptions proactively
Requirements
4–8 years of experience in pharma/healthcare procurement or sourcing
Strong understanding of pharma supply chain, distributors, and trade margins
Hands-on experience with JIT procurement and inventory optimisation
Proven negotiation and vendor management skills
Familiarity with ERP/inventory systems and procurement dashboards
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in pharma sourcing
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment
