The Short-Form Designer is responsible for creating visually engaging design assets that enhance the storytelling and performance of short-form video content across platforms such as Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, Facebook, and other social media channels. This role focuses on designing graphics, motion elements, typography, overlays, and branded visual assets that elevate audience engagement while maintaining consistency across brands.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of social media aesthetics, motion design principles, and platform-first content, with the ability to create impactful visuals that complement fast-paced video storytelling.
Design graphics, motion assets, overlays, icons, callouts, lower thirds, transitions, and branded visual elements for short-form videos.
Create visually compelling assets that enhance storytelling and improve audience engagement.
Develop platform-optimized creatives for vertical, square, and landscape video formats.
Ensure all visual assets align with brand identity, campaign objectives, and platform best practices.
Collaborate closely with Video Editors, Creative Strategists, and Pod Leads throughout the production process.
Translate creative briefs into visually engaging design elements.
Support editors by providing high-quality design assets that strengthen narrative flow and visual impact.
Participate in brainstorming sessions to contribute innovative visual concepts.
Maintain consistency in typography, color palettes, iconography, animation styles, and visual language across all content.
Develop reusable design templates and asset libraries to improve production efficiency.
Ensure every deliverable reflects the brand's creative identity while adapting to platform-specific requirements.
Deliver design assets within agreed timelines to support efficient video production.
Organize project files and creative assets for seamless collaboration with editing teams.
Implement revisions quickly while maintaining design quality and attention to detail.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced production environment.
Stay updated with the latest social media design trends, animation styles, and platform updates.
Experiment with new visual techniques, AI-powered design tools, and creative workflows.
Analyze content performance to understand how visual design impacts engagement and viewer retention.
Recommend design improvements based on audience behavior and performance insights.
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia, Animation, or a related field (preferred).
2–4+ years of experience in digital design, motion graphics, or social media content creation.
Experience working in creative agencies, media companies, or content-first organizations is preferred.
Strong portfolio showcasing social media graphics, motion design, and video support assets.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
Strong working knowledge of Adobe After Effects for motion graphics.
Familiarity with Figma and AI-powered design tools such as Adobe Firefly or similar platforms is an advantage.
Strong understanding of typography, layout, color theory, composition, and visual hierarchy.
Basic to intermediate motion graphics and animation skills.
Understanding of platform-specific design requirements for short-form content.
Ability to simplify complex ideas into engaging visual elements.
Strong eye for aesthetics and storytelling through design.
Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
Ability to manage multiple creative requests simultaneously.
