Less meetings, more work: We do just one scheduled meeting/week. Every day, everyone drops an async standup update on slack. Whoever misses the update has to send a video version in commentary format to entertain others :)
Broad roles: We like to keep roles broad by default. This means an engineer could be writing product docs, doing demo calls, etc. A UX designer could be creating logos or videos. We look for at least one spike and leave the rest fuzzy.
Work trials: We do a paid 1 week work trial before hiring so that both of us can experience what it's like working together before committing. Some people in less demanding full-time roles have continued to work with us for longer periods or multiple short stints because they enjoy it.
