What is this role, really?

At GrowthX, our marketing strategy is built on two core principles — discovery & trust. Content is at the core of it. We are looking for a bar-raiser YouTube Lead who will work in a team that will grow our YouTube from 650K subscribers → 1 million in the next 6 months & beyond.
This role is key to bringing big ideas to life. They are internet savants, storytellers, scientists, and conduits for all things trending. While they are creatively inspired by their surroundings, they must also have a unique ability to understand the business impact content has.
Our ideal candidate for this role will have a duality to their personality. They will be limitless in idea generation and also need to be able to work within our proven video formats. This position will have a huge learning curve, creating content watched by the top 1% leaders, founders, investors & operators in the country.
This role is part of our media pod that is obsessed about building India’s largest business focused channel in the country (English & Hindi). You will work with absolutely high bar creative writers, visual designers, editors & production crew.

What you’ll be doing?

Lead & Collaborate with a team of video editors, writers & designers.
Research trends and tactics for video formats — deeply crack the video formats.
Turn ideas into action while incorporating the GrowthX brand into all elements.
Work daily with editors on the end to end content pipeline: from pre-production (scripting, storyboarding), production (shooting, set design), post-production (editing, visualisation, processes) to launch (craft in-depth GTM plans).
Some visual and writing references that we closely relate with are Johnny Harris, Cleo Abram & Bloomberg Originals**.** This does not mean we hate other creators. We like the way they depict the form & function while making sure it’s educational. We have strong views of what is great quality content & matching the sense of taste in the team.
We strongly believe education is a business of trust. Great writing builds trust and perceived value above all. We want our writing to be the benchmark across media companies (think Vox, Netflix, Masterclass) of the world.

Where can this role evolve, really?

Initially, you will build and scale current IPs. But, eventually will transition to owning and creating multiple IPs.
The role will drive creative strategy across everything content on YouTube from viewing experience, bringing traffic to website & own revenue impact.

What are requisites of this role?

4+ years of YouTube + video experience.
Proficiency in YouTube analytics (AVD obsessed).
Has a supremely high bar on brand & copy writing.
Is able to go from script → process → launch with taste.
Proficiency in research, writing scripts for ~ 10 min episodes.
Understands visual design & editing feedback cycles.
Creator, media company experience is a huge plus.
