About the Role
The Studio Manager will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day operations of the studio, including equipment management, shoot setup, studio readiness, and coordination with production teams. This role requires strong technical understanding of cameras, lighting, audio, and studio workflows. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing both creative and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Studio Operations & Management
Oversee the daily functioning and readiness of the studio.
Maintain studio cleanliness, organisation, and safety standards.
Ensure availability of required equipment, accessories, props, and consumables.
Coordinate studio schedules and bookings.
Technical Setup & Shoot Support
Set up lighting, camera, audio, and teleprompter for shoot days.
Assist talent and crew during recording sessions ensuring smooth operation.
Troubleshoot common technical issues on-site during shoots.
Equipment Management
Maintain asset inventory of all equipment including cameras, lights, audio gear, chroma key setup, batteries, cables, and accessories.
Prepare and maintain detailed equipment log sheets for usage, damages, and maintenance.
Inspect and test equipment regularly to ensure proper functioning.
Coordinate repair, calibration, or procurement of equipment when necessary.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain shoot logs, maintenance logs, usage sheets, and daily operational checklists.
Report equipment issues, missing items, or workflow bottlenecks proactively.
Skills & Qualifications
Technical Requirements
Prior experience in managing or assisting in a photo/video studio or production environment.
Knowledge of cameras (DSLR/Mirrorless/Cinema), lighting setups, boom/clip-on mics, and basic production workflows.
Basic understanding of file management, media cards, and backup processes (bonus).
Soft Skills
Good communication and coordination abilities.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and work under tight timelines.
Problem-solving attitude and adaptability during live shoot situations.
Additional Expectations
Punctuality and reliability are critical.
