Founding Engineer (AI / Product)

About the role

• We’re hiring a founding engineer to build and ship AI-powered product experiences from idea to production.

• You’ll work across product thinking, engineering execution, and customer feedback loops to turn real user problems into simple, useful features.

• This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys moving quickly, making practical tradeoffs, and owning outcomes end to end.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and launch AI features that solve real customer problems.

• Work closely with stakeholders to shape product direction based on user needs and feedback.

• Prototype quickly, test with users, and iterate toward production-quality experiences.

• Own implementation across backend, integrations, and product surfaces as needed.

• Make thoughtful decisions about model choice, prompting, evaluation, reliability, and cost.

• Help set a high bar for product quality, speed, and engineering judgment.

Requirements

• You have shipped AI features or products used by real customers in production.

• You have strong product and customer sense, and can translate ambiguous problems into practical solutions.

• You are comfortable owning work end to end, from discovery and scoping through launch and iteration.

• You can balance speed with sound engineering choices.

• You communicate clearly and collaborate well with both technical and non-technical teammates.

• This role is not a fit for candidates whose experience is primarily research-only without shipped customer-facing work.
