Remote
We're looking for a hands-on technical partner to help build Curment's e-cheques and payment infrastructure platform from the ground up. This is an equity-based role with part-time commitment to start and the potential to grow into a full-time leadership position as the platform scales.
Own the architecture and build-out of the core e-cheques platform.
Shape foundational technical decisions across backend systems, integrations, security, and scalability.
Work closely with the founding team as a true technical partner, not a contractor.
Start part-time, with room to grow into a full-time leadership role as the company scales.
Design and build the core system for issuing, processing, clearing, and reconciling electronic cheques.
Build the digital cheque templating and layout engine, with support for standard cheque formatting and regional banking requirements.
Architect and implement integrations with bank branch systems or portals for cheque submission, verification, and status syncing.
Build a secure payment acceptance module for collecting service fees.
Implement strong security, encryption, audit logging, and fraud-prevention practices for financial data handling.
Partner on long-term technical roadmap, scalability planning, and platform direction.
Experience integrating with banking or financial institution APIs or portals.
Strong understanding of secure payment processing and financial data compliance.
Comfort leading architecture, backend build-out, and ideally some DevOps or infrastructure work.
A startup mindset: self-directed, comfortable with ambiguity, and motivated by long-term ownership.
Recommended primary stack: Java (Spring Boot) for the core cheque-processing and branch-integration backend.
This is an equity-based partnership, not a salaried position.
Specific equity percentage, vesting schedule, and terms will be discussed directly with qualified candidates.
Please share your relevant background, links to previous work, and why this opportunity fits what you're looking for.
