Job Description – IT Platform Engineer (Intern)

Role Overview

The IT Automation & Integrations Intern will work closely with the IT Infrastructure and Platform teams to design and implement automations, APIs, and integrations across Rapido’s internal systems.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys writing automation scripts, integrating SaaS tools, working with APIs, and building lightweight internal tools using Python, Google Apps Script, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The intern will help build solutions that improve IT operations, security workflows, asset management, helpdesk automation, and reporting dashboards.

Key Responsibilities

1. IT System Integrations

• Build integrations between internal systems such as:

  • Google Workspace

  • Slack

  • Jira / Atlassian

  • GitHub

  • ITSM tools (Freshservice / Chatwoot)

• Develop API connectors between SaaS platforms.

2. Automation Development

• Develop automation scripts using Python and Google Apps Script.

• Build automation pipelines for:

  • Onboarding / offboarding workflows

  • Access provisioning

  • Helpdesk ticket automation

  • Asset lifecycle tracking

  • SaaS license management

3. Cloud Automation (GCP)

• Develop and deploy serverless automations using:

  • Cloud Functions

  • Cloud Run

  • Cloud Scheduler

• Build integrations using GCP APIs and service accounts.

4. Data Pipelines & Reporting

• Build scripts that extract operational data from APIs.

• Push processed data to:

  • Google Sheets

  • BigQuery

  • Looker Studio dashboards.

5. Security & Compliance Automation

• Automate security monitoring workflows such as:

  • Access audit logs

  • SaaS entitlement reviews

  • Alert notifications to Slack.

6. Internal Tools Development

• Build lightweight internal tools to improve IT operations.

• Develop internal dashboards or utilities to support IT teams.

Required Skills

Technical Skills

• Strong programming skills in Python

• Experience with Google Apps Script

• Familiarity with REST APIs and API integrations

• Basic knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Cloud & Dev Skills

• Experience with:

  • Cloud Functions

  • Cloud Run

  • Service accounts & API authentication

• Understanding of Git / GitHub workflows

Automation & Scripting

• Ability to write automation scripts for operational workflows.

• Experience working with JSON, APIs, and webhooks.

Good to Have

• Experience integrating SaaS tools such as Slack, Google Workspace, Jira.

• Knowledge of OAuth, SAML, or identity systems.

• Experience building internal automation tools or bots.

• Familiarity with BigQuery or Looker Studio dashboards.
