We are building the core team that will scale this from hundreds to hundreds of thousands of concurrent traders.
Why this Role exists
TRADL operates at the intersection of AI, financial data, and consumer product design. Our users are retail traders who need to process complex market information, configure screens and strategies, interpret backtest results, and act on alerts "often under time pressure during market hours". The product surface is large and growing (screening, charting, F&O analytics, portfolio, order execution). This role is responsible for how all of it looks, feels, and works.
We are looking for a designer who can handle information-dense financial interfaces without sacrificing usability.
What You'll Own
Core Product Design: Own the end-to-end design of TRADL’s web and mobile platforms.
Trading Workflows: Design the order placement, position management, and watchlist experiences as we build out the broking layer.
AI Interaction Patterns: Design how users interact with AI-generated outputs, natural language query interfaces, result presentation for code-backed screens.
Design System: Build and maintain a component library and design system that scales across web and mobile.
User Research: Conduct user interviews, usability testing, and workflow analysis with retail traders.
Cross-functional Execution: Work directly with Product, Frontend Engineering, and Backend to ship designs into production.
What We're Looking For
4-7+ years of product design experience with at least 2 years on consumer-facing financial or trading products.
Strong portfolio demonstrating information-dense UI design - dashboards, data tables, charting interfaces, or similar complex product surfaces.
Proficiency in Figma. Ability to produce high-fidelity prototypes, interaction specs, and production-ready component designs.
Experience in both web and mobile platforms with responsive and adaptive layouts.
Solid understanding of design systems and component-based architecture.
Familiarity with how retail traders use products like Kite (Zerodha), Groww, TradingView. Understanding of trading workflows, market data presentation, and order flows.
Bonus Points
Experience designing AI-native or conversational interfaces (chat-based UX, natural language input, generative output display).
Background in data visualisation - charting libraries, candlestick/OHLC charts, equity curves, heatmaps.
Basic understanding of frontend implementation (React, CSS) to communicate effectively with engineers.
Experience with F&O (options chain interfaces, payoff diagrams, Greeks visualisation).
