Do you have a long-simmering, burning curiosity towards a question or project that you wish you could spend a few months investigating?
Lossfunk Sabbaticals is an opportunity for exceptional people to spend 3-6 uninterrupted months on projects that are typically out-of-distribution for traditional institutes such as academia, industry or VCs
During your sabbatical, we give you financial support, resources, intellectual company and an inspiring space in Bangalore to work
Your only obligation is to do a public release of your work in some shape (talk, paper, report, open source code, etc.)
We’re age and experience agnostic, but we’re looking for people with demonstrated track-record of exceptional output in their fields. It doesn't matter if you're a young person or a veteran professional; we seek to support scientists, engineers, philosophers, writers, artists, builders or anyone else with a burning desire to work on an out-of-distribution project.
This is not an internship, retreat or mentorship program. Bring your own question, judgment and ability to lead the work.

We're flexible, but typically we support 3-6 months long sabbaticals
Do some math; give us an idea or range of the budget we should keep in mind for this sabbatical. Leave it blank if you’d rather discuss it 1-1, but we prioritise replying to applications where we have upfront clarity of budget
We prefer you to be co-located with us in Bengaluru. But in rare cases, could also consider it to be split b/w Bengaluru and your preferred location
